This is THE best fitting peplum top for my body shape! I love it!

Just purchased this from Zara last week and am OBSESSED.
(I added some stock photos to this post because due to the solid colors it's hard to show detail)

I have a short torso (due to scoliosis) and I'm not super skinny so peplum tops can be tricky for me. If these hit too low can make your hips look a lot wider than they are and if they hit too high it can bulk up your midsection too much.

My boyfriend also loves this top/outfit on me, he commented on it as soon as he saw it (as well as several times throughout the day) and that's always a good feeling : )

I'm also loving the black and white trend so choosing what I would on the bottom was a no brainer. These are some of my FAVORITE skirts ever (my boyfriend's favorite style/brand of skirt on me as well) - they can be dressed up or down and are extremely comfortable!

They're a little pricey but totally worth it - they wash and wear well not to mention go with pretty much anything! Every season they come out in TONS of colors, it's hard to resist! Plus they do go on sale - I have gotten a few for about $50-$60

Classic, long lasting and good quality - for sure a staple in my wardrobe.

(I use to just buy cheaper bandage skirts from Forever 21 and similar stores but I could only wear them once or twice before they shrunk, the waist band twisted or they got pill-y - so I bit the bullet and started to invest. It's been so worth it since I wear these for everything from a night out to business meetings (they do have different lengths - I have a few longer ones as well.))

Lastly these shoes again!

They are a total staple for me in the spring and summer.
Easy to walk in, interesting to look at and they go with so much!

For an outfit like this I really love the look of bold strappy sandals. I think it just balances everything out.

And the cherry on top - white polish on the toes. I AM LOVING this trend!
It instantly gives your toes/legs a tan and just looks so clean.

Here I am wearing Essie - 'Blanc' on my toes.

For my nails I have on OPI - 'My Boyfriend Scales Walls' - I prefer this on my hands because it's more of a grey/blue white vs. a stark white which I don't think looks very good on fingers. True white kind of gives a fake/white out look and if you wear inexpensive black clothing (F21/H&M) it stains them : ( That doesn't happen with this polish and from a distance it pretty much appears white so you get the look without any of the issues.)

-----------

Hope you guys enjoyed this post/outfit! It is one of my favorites so far! So sexy and feminine : ) (If I wear it again I'll try and snap some pics with my DSLR vs. my iPhone - I been in Vegas the past few days so this is all I was able to get.)

Thanks again for reading, following, commenting and supporting.
I truly appreciate it! My blog has become a new passion for me and I'm having a LOT of fun with it!

Keep checking back! I should have a new post soon : )

Love,
Holly

  1. I love peplums and this outfit looks great on you! Btw, I picked up a Shea Moisture Olive & Green Tea Body Scrub after seeing it in your video and it smells so good! There is a lotion from Bath & Body Works of a similar scent but it's discontinued and they only bring it back during their semi annual sale. It's called Sheer Freesia.

  18. You look great =] In regards to what you said about having a short torso: at least you have long legs. Compared to other women my height, I have short legs and a long-ish torso. I'm always making sure tops are long enough and altering pants to reduce length. I don't know. Perhaps I have grass-is-greener-on-the-other-side syndrome, lol.

Thanks for sharing that the BCBG skirt is on sale! I want to pull the trigger, but...I can't decide between the lime or the black. I've been obsessed with lime and the neon yellow family, but I'm not sure if I'm comfortable enough about wearing something bright and butt-hugging.
Black is always classic & versatile, but I wonder if it's too much to spend on what may end up looking like a plain black skirt once I see it in person.
Anyhoo, hope you're having a great time in Vegas!

  21. Per your recommendation, I went to Zara and tried on the top. LOVE! Thanks so much for the great advice. Sexy and classy at the same time. It's really not that expensive for the quality and fit. Great find Holly!

  22. Omg crazy! I have scoliosis too, which caused me to have a shorter torso as well like it did for you. lol. Did you have to get any treatment for it? I was hesitant about some peplum stuff, but now I might just consider looking harder for peplum pieces that will fit me better. hahah.
