Rose Romance. Fresh Paint Quickie. [Essie]

nails and photo by hollyannaeree

Playing with roses again.

I just couldn't help myself!

What I used:

What I did:

1. Apply a base coat (I use OPI Nail Envy for Natural Nails)

2. Apply 2 Coats of Essie Mod Square over the entire nail except for the ring finger on each hand.

3. For the ring fingers apply Essie Sugar Daddy over the entire nail. (base color for the french)

4. Then use Essie Blanc to paint a white tip to the ring fingers. (I do this free hand)

Now for the Nail Art:

5.  Using Essie Mod Square paint 3 squiggly circles. (You want an organic shape! This is going to be your rose.)

6. Taking a small brush (either a nail brush or in my case I used a Sigma E11 eyeliner brush) dip it into Orly Lucky Duck to create the leaves on the side of your roses. (You can either make a leaf shape or just make kind of a dash mark)

7. Wipe off your brush and then dip it into Orly Gum Drop to highlight the leaves. All you need to do is draw a line or two within the darker green section.

8. Wipe off your brush one last time and dip it into Revlon Cafe Pink to highlight the inside of the roses. For this I just draw little half circles or C's and swirl the paint around a bit. (Most likely your little glob of Essie Mod Square will still be wet so the polishes will mix together some. This is okay and can sometimes add to the effect as shown below.)

9. Finish off with a fast drying top coat. I use Seche Vite

Overall I think this was a really fun look! This is my second time doing rose nail art and I really enjoy it. It's a really simple and easy way to add some interest to your manicure.

Of course you can do this any why you'd like - Here's another example of how I've used the roses before. (This was my first time ever trying the rose design on my nails. LOVED IT!)

February Empties - Products I've used up! (and an update : )

Welp. Someone's been horrible at posting. >_<

Okay truthfully it hasn't been too long but considering the roll I was on I'm disappointed.

Unfortunately doing videos takes so much time that the days I am filming and trying to get a video up that's ALL I'm doing. So sorry for the delay! I am really trying to get back on track with my YouTube channel and it's just about trying to find a happy medium between the two (without getting burnt out!)

Anyway here is my latest YouTube video - my February Empties! (or Products I've Used Up) - I've got a lot more stuff than I did last month and I am feeling pretty accomplished!

I'm going to at least try and post up the pics of my current manicure shown in this video so you can see a little more detail : )

I will have more blog posts soon! I have some pictures that need tagging etc, etc, and then we'll be back!

I can't wait for the weather to start warming up so I can do more fashion posts on here as well ^_^

Till then.....Enjoy!

Nicole by OPI - Selena (Selena Gomez Collection) Fresh Paint Quickie.

Nicole by OPI - Selena from the Selena Gomez Collection - photo by hollyannaeree

It's that time again....

Fresh manicure!

This time I just went for one color, a new one I had picked up at CVS.

Nicole by OPI, as well as OPI, frequently do celebrity collaborations and this is one of their latest which features Selena Gomez :)

Originally I had only picked up glitter polishes from the line but CVS was running a sale (I believe it was buy 2 Nicole by OPI get $5 Extra Bucks) so I couldn't resist!

The color I chose is called 'Selena' which is a really pretty peachy coral color with some subtle sparkle. Surprisingly I have nothing in my collection that is this color. The ones I own are either more orange or just overall darker so it was a nice addition.

Unfortunately this was not the easiest polish to work with - kind of on the thick side yet took 4 COATS to achieve an even and opaque look. Also none of the little glitters show up, which isn't a big deal for me since I prefer cream polishes but heck if it's in there it'd be nice if it made an appearance!

Overall I think it still looks nice and if you are just dying over the color go ahead and scoop it up but I really wasn't impressed with the way it applied nor do I like to have to apply soooo many coats. (It's not even like you can really wear this polish sheer - it's not thin, just applies unevenly until you build it up)

I'd probably give this polish a 3 out of 5.

-------------

I am wearing this polish in my latest YouTube video if you are interested in seeing what the color looks like on me.

Thanks so much for reading! Hope you've enjoyed : )

See you back here (hopefully) tomorrow!

Bright and Polka Dotted. Fresh Paint Quickie.

Quick Post on my Current Manicure!

Essie - Where's my Chauffeur? (Here)
Butter London - Cheeky Chops (Here)

(iPhone photos)

I wanted to do something bright and summery so I decided to try out a different color combination.

I've actually never tried either of these shades, despite owning them for a while, but I like the way they came out. Not my favorite I've done but I like. ; )

How it was done:

1. Applied OPI Nail Envy for Natural Nails as a base coat.

2. Followed by 2 Coats of Essie - Where's my Chauffeur? (minus my ring and pinky finger)

3. Painted my ring finger on my left hand & pinky on my right with two coats of
Butter London - Cheeky Chops. (this did not apply nicely. VERY THICK!)

4. Took a dotting tool and Essie - Blanc to create polka dots on top of the Cheeky Chops

5. Finished off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

Hope you enjoyed this look! It's always fun to try something new.
Makes life more interesting : )

Have a great Wednesday (as well as rest of the week) and I will see you back here either later today or tomorrow!

(Don't forget to check out my new video I just posted! It should be at the top of my blog : )

A day for shade.

Stopped by the Century City Mall today and picked up these babies!

I haven't purchased a new pair of sunglasses in almost 3 years - (you may remember my Juicy Aviators that I am in LOVE with! Still am but I wanted to get a second pair of sunglasses so I don't wear my current ones out.)

The pair I chose is by Dior.

I've never tried this brand for shades before but they feel very well made and most importantly they are COMFORTABLE! They sit well on my (barely existant) nose bridge (fellow Asian people you know what I am talking about!) and they don't touch my cheeks - AMAZEBALLS. lol.

I purchased these at Solstice and they were actually running a sale,
 30% OFF everything....BUT Dior. -__________________-

Of course.

-_-

But I got them anyway because they just fit so darn well!

A rare find.

(Figured I'd throw in a little Outfit of the Day as well...)

Studded Tank from Nordstrom (shown Here)

Black Bandeau from Forever 21

Victoria's Secret Leggings

Steve Madden Dynemite Sandal in Black Suede (Here)  #repeatoffender

Jewelmint Collective Rosary Bracelet (Here) #repeatoffender

House of Harlow Sunburst Earrings - Black and Gold (Here)

Chanel Maxi Flap Bag in Black Caviar with Gold Hardware

Dior Sunglasses

I will post more close up "product shots" of the sunglasses this week where I will include the style number etc.

(I'll also do a post on the LV present I bought Steve - for the few guys that may read my blog (or for the ladies that wanna get their man a stylin' gift ^_^))

Hope you enjoyed!

Thanks for reading and I will see you tomorrow!

LOUIS VUITTON Tivoli GM

LOUIS VUITTON Tivoli GM

Retail $1,780 plus tax

7.9 x 11 x 18.1 inches
More details can be found on louisvuitton.com

Bag was purchased 9/2010

(So photos are after a few years of use.)

Vachetta has darkened over time which is natural for Louis Vuitton bags.

As with all of my Louis Vuitton bags I have tried to keep the handles as uniform as possible and as you can see they have aged quite evenly.

Very spacious with a lot of character due to the pleating on the front.

The large opening makes this bag very convenient.

I no longer have this bag - photos are for reference.

You may leave a comment with any questions.

Thanks!
Holly
